SAFETY POLICY / GUIDELINES

  • It is our duty to follow the Safety instructions of our Customer, superiors and all operating procedures.
  • Safety signals and signs, such as, prohibition, warning, instruction, escape and supplementary signs [e.g. prohibition to trespass or to smoke, escape routes, first aid], must be observed.
  • Before taking up work, check that your gear, machines and tools are in good order. All equipment is to be used for their intended purposes only.
  • Damage to and faults in machines, tools and other equipment must be reported immediately. The same applies to any situation, which could cause an accident.
  • Protective devices must not be removed or rendered ineffective.
  • Cleaning up operations may be carried out only at machines, which have been switched off, are at a standstill and have been secured against re-starting.
  • The place of work must always be kept clean and tidied up after the work has been finished.
  • Always use safe ladders, working platforms and scaffolding. Never climb onto crates, chairs, tables, chemical drums or other unsafe supports.
  • Pits, shafts, floor openings and the like must be permanently secured so that no one can be injured. The source of danger must be covered, barred or otherwise secured.
  • For reasons of personal and general safety, it is forbidden to consume alcoholic beverages during working hours or to arrive for work under the influence of alcohol.
  • Observe the rules of the road. Only use motor vehicles, which are in a roadworthy condition.
  • For our own safety, use the protective equipment required for your job, e.g. safety helmets, goggles, earmuffs, protective clothing, including gloves and safety shoes, safety belts etc.
  • Refrain from any sort of irresponsible behavior - e.g. fooling around teasing, quarrelling - that could endanger others or yourself.
  • Make sure that the work you do does not endanger others or yourself.
  • Do not enter without proper permission any part of the factory / site that does not concern you.
  • Familiarize yourself with local site conditions before commencing work at a site, and check for any possible hazard which you may face there. This also enables preparation to site-specific safety gears. eg. gas leak.
  • Acquaint yourself with safety instructions of your responsible site manager and also with any special notices / regulations issued by the clients relevant to that project site.
  • Avoid carrying sharp and pointed tools e.g. knives, screw-drivers, dividers etc., in your pockets, carry a tool-bag instead.
  • Keep in mind risk of accidents due to objects lying around your working area, spilled liquid specially oil, planks with nails protruding out, box strapping, barbed wire, protruding objects in narrow or low gangways or ducts or passages.
  • Any incident involving accident / injury should be immediately reported to your superiors.
  • Study the operating procedures and other instructions of the equipment, tools and gadgets you have to handle for your site work. Check them for proper and safe working conditions. Do not use them if not found in good working order.
  • The paths and routes to approach staircase, exit doors, emergency escapes etc., must be kept free from obstacles.
  • Scrap and wastes should be dumped in the specified receptacles or cubicles meant for the same.
  • Be careful with compressed air; do not direct it at yourself or at your colleagues.
  • Always follow the safety instruction provided by the Customer who provides us the Jobs and the site.
